More eBay Portraits

Once again, I've been lax in communicating my journey through the world of art. I will try to make up for it, by letting everyone know that my Hide-away series of cat portraits went pretty well; I sold eight of the twelve in the series on eBay. One buyer bought four of them! I sold two more to another buyer, as well as a portrait of an Australian Shepherd that I created. I've also sold one of a Welsh Corgi, and another of a West Highland Terrier. Two that haven't sold are of a Bassett hound and a Yellow Lab. I've re-listed the Bassett, and just listed one I completed yesterday of a Bichon Frise. I really like this one, it only took me about four hours total to complete; I was so into it! I have also been working on more wildlife art, and completed a Great Blue Heron over the weekend. I like it alot, and have already had inquiries about selling it!
The best news I've had lately is from an acquantance of mine, who called out of the blue to commission a portrait of her cat for her anniversary gift to her husband! Apparently, the cat just loves him, and his favorite bed is in his lap! I can hardly wait to get started; just waiting on the photos from her.
I will really try to keep everyone posted on what I'm working on, and I appreciate being able to let you know who I am.

Been a While...

Sorry I haven't kept up with my blog. As you know, I was working on quite a bit of wildlife art, in the hopes of being accepted into the Southeaster Wildlife Expo. I was not accepted. The work I submitted was good, or at least I thought it was good; however, I didn't send good, quality jpg's as I should have; I had a hard time writing them to disk, and ended up taking crappy photos to Wally world to have a CD made. That and the fact that I am a "local" artist probably killed it. I have all the equipment to get quality photos downloaded to CD now. I will not make the same mistake again, and yes, I will try again next year. I don't have to pay an additional jurying fee, it is a one time deal, so that's good. But being denied really got me down, and I haven't created much wildlife art since. Instead I have been creating little 5 x 7 portraits of cats and kittens to sell on eBay. So far I have sold 3 out of 7, but someone is watching another, so maybe it will sell. I decided to do a series, which is called the "Hide away" series, where all of the cats/kittens are in, under, or behind things. They start out at $1.99 each, and that's all I've gotten for one so far. If you are interested in checking them out, type in AMP under search and see them. I'm pretty sure I'm the only AMP out there, but you might get some funky electrical stuff in your search! I'll post a few here later so you can check them out! And if you would like to see what other wildlife art I've done, see my website, www.putmanartstudios.com.
