The Red Heads are Coming!
It took alot longer than I anticipated, but I have finished the painting of the Sandhill Cranes! I really enjoyed creating this piece; it is quite large, 12-3/4 x 18! The coloring of these birds made them wonderful to create, with their red and white faces, and gray plumage covered in rust (from the dirt!). I really had fun with this one; of course, I have fun with every painting I do. My next project is a commission piece of a dog, a chow/schnauzer mix (wow, I can hardly wait!), but it is small, only 8 x 10, so I should finish it quickly. Of course, my Saturday is shot, as I will be babysitting my grandkids for the day. I should get the photos of the commission tomorrow or the next day, and as I have arranged my regular J-O-B schedule to get half a day on Fridays off, I should be able to finish the portrait by Monday or Tuesday next week. My next wildlife painting will be of a lioness. I am very much looking forward to creating her!

Flying High
Well, I didn't get the photo I wanted of the tern I recently started, but the finished product is almost done! I will post it as soon as it is finished, probably tomorrow. I have been so busy trying to get artwork done for the upcoming show that I have not been able to get anything done for my eBay sales, but I will be starting a new portrait after I finish the tern painting. Well, I will get busy on my tern painting so that I can start on the Borzoi I am planning.

Creating a new Work of Art
Hello! I have just started another work of art, this one is a seagull or tern, flying away from the viewer over the ocean. I have been studying the line of the wings, the gull's feather pattern, and the tilt of his head for a couple of days now, a process of my creativity. I will begin the sketch tonight, and hope to have the completed painting ready for viewing in a few days. I will try once again to create a WIP of this painting; however, I am using a blue paper, and doesn't photgraph well. But, I will try...

Almost Finished...
Well, I know I said I would start posting WIP's on my blog, but I wasn't able to get a good photo of my pelican painting after the sketch because it was so light, and the paper I am using for this painting is a slate blue. So I will be posting the photo after I finish, probably tomorrow. Things have been pretty hectic, with summer coming most of my friends are having cookouts and parties, and the husband likes to go to them all! So I have been working on my painting in the evenings, and this one should be done today. Will post again soon!

Getting Started...
Hey! Been a few days, but I'm getting started on a new painting. It is of a pelican, gliding over the water here at Shem Creek, in beautiful Charleston, SC. I've been soooo busy, with the JOB and running kids around, I am just now getting all of my thoughts together to begin. I think I will start posting WIPs (Work In Progress), so that you all can see the progress of my paintings, from sketch to finished product, goes. This is another work that I will showcase at the wildlife show next year. Will post a pic right after the sketch is complete!
