Creating a new Work of Art

Hello! I have just started another work of art, this one is a seagull or tern, flying away from the viewer over the ocean. I have been studying the line of the wings, the gull's feather pattern, and the tilt of his head for a couple of days now, a process of my creativity. I will begin the sketch tonight, and hope to have the completed painting ready for viewing in a few days. I will try once again to create a WIP of this painting; however, I am using a blue paper, and doesn't photgraph well. But, I will try...

Almost Finished...

Well, I know I said I would start posting WIP's on my blog, but I wasn't able to get a good photo of my pelican painting after the sketch because it was so light, and the paper I am using for this painting is a slate blue. So I will be posting the photo after I finish, probably tomorrow. Things have been pretty hectic, with summer coming most of my friends are having cookouts and parties, and the husband likes to go to them all! So I have been working on my painting in the evenings, and this one should be done today. Will post again soon!

Getting Started...

Hey! Been a few days, but I'm getting started on a new painting. It is of a pelican, gliding over the water here at Shem Creek, in beautiful Charleston, SC. I've been soooo busy, with the JOB and running kids around, I am just now getting all of my thoughts together to begin. I think I will start posting WIPs (Work In Progress), so that you all can see the progress of my paintings, from sketch to finished product, goes. This is another work that I will showcase at the wildlife show next year. Will post a pic right after the sketch is complete!

Another eBay Listing

Hello! I have just listed another new portrait on eBay! It is of a Tabby cat, reclining on a sofa, just being a cat! I created this portrait last month on Canson Mi Tientes using Prismacolor pencils. I have included a photo, so if interested, just check it out. Still trying to finish this egret painting; ended up working 14 hours yesterday, so didn't get a chance to work on it. Here's hoping I finish it tonight!

Still Working...

Well, I'm still working on the egret painting. Didn't get a chance to work on it at all yesterday; worked late at the J-O-B, and then had a concert to go to last night. I'm hoping to finish tonight or tomorrow; I promise to post as soon as it's finished!

Pet Portrait Artist New to Blogging

Hi! My name is Anita Meistrell Putman, and I am a pet portrait/wildlife artist working in colored pencil. I have a website, www.putmanartstudios.com, and I am selling small (8 x 10) pet portraits on eBay. I have been an artist most of my life, and have been selling on eBay for a few years now. I stopped selling for a while; I was working in pen and ink then, and made the switch to colored pencil. I love it so much, I haven't looked back! I just started selling again in the past 3 months on eBay, highlighting my colored pencil work. My current listing is a portrait of a black Standard Poodle. Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290227371828&_trksid=p3907.m32&_trkparms=tab%3DSelling
I invite everyone to visit my website, and let me know what they think of my art.
